Free admission. 2024 We Are ALL Readers Festival Schedule Doors open at 9:30 Festival runs from 10 AM - 2 PM on April 6, 2024 at North Kingstown High School 9:30 - 2 Hands-on Activities and Book Signings (Cafeteria) Join us in the cafeteria for hands-on art and writing activities for kids, a pop-up bookstore hosted by Wakefield books, book signings by our presenting authors and illustrators, and community tables. From 11 - 2 there will be food trucks outside. 10:00 Welcome (Auditorium) 10:10 - 11:35 Picture Book Storytimes with Authors and Illustrators (Auditorium) Join our authors and illustrators on stage in the auditorium for a cozy storytime and Q&A session. Book signings/Author meet-and-greets will follow each talk. 10:10 Kim Fleming 10:30 Jamie Michalak 10:55 Valerie Bolling 11:15 Eric Valesquez 10:45 - 11:30 Make Your Own Comics Workshop (Library) Rhode Island graphic novelist Cathy Johnson (THE BREAKAWAYS) will teach this hands-on comics making workshop for kids 7-12. Preregistration required because of limited space. A book signings/Author meet-and-greet will follow the workshop. 11:30 - 12:00 Rhode Island Bucket Drummers (Outside/Atrium) Feel the beat at this heart-pounding drumming performance, followed by an interactive drumming session for kids. 12:00 - 1:35 Graphic Novel Author Talks (Auditorium) Get a glimpse behind the scenes of graphic novel creation with these four creators. Book signings/Author meet-and-greets will follow each talk. 12:00 Shauna Grant 12:25 Damian Alexander 12:50 Raul the Third 1:15 Alex Graudins 1:40 - 2:00 We Belong on the Page - Teen Art Show Opening (Atrium) Teens from across Rhode Island reimagine book covers for banned and challenged books, and reflect on why these books matter to them, their community, and the world at large. Come celebrate these young creators and join the conversation!
