Newport Community Tree Program

The Community Tree Program allows all Newport residents to request a new tree to be planted in front of their home. Residents can request a planting for along their sidewalk or roadway, or up to 20ft onto private property. Interested applicants can choose from 11 different species of shade and flowering trees to fit their space, from towering Maples to dazzling cherries.
Supply is limited and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If approved, trees will be planted for the subsidized cost of $125. Trees will be provided free-of-charge for streets and neighborhoods with lower existing tree canopy (see website for details). Plantings will be performed by the City of Newport Public Services Department and will begin in early April. Trees will range from 4-8ft tall at the time of planting.
