The New Bedford Whaling Museum has announced its calendar of summer programming filled with interactive experiences and interesting activities for the entire family. From Whale Wednesdays and special 3D movie screenings, to exhibit-inspired crafts, storytimes, and squid dissections, there’s something exciting happening almost every day. Whether kids are diving into the world of ocean giants or getting creative with Museum Makers, it's the perfect time to explore, learn, and play all summer long. Full details and registration information can be found at https://www.whalingmuseum.org/program/summer-at-the-museum-2025/
The Museum’s new Kid’s Corner, a free, ocean-themed exploration space designed for ages two-to-eight-years, is now open, filled with books, toys, puppets, puzzles, and more. Visitors can also enjoy Above and Below, an interactive exhibit about marine life and art, with guiding questions and engaging prompts that adults can use to facilitate conversation with younger visitors about how artworks show the world and its creatures in different ways. The new Augmented Reality Sand Table, which lets guests sculpt 3D landscapes while learning about topography and watersheds, is also now open in the Jacobs Family Gallery.
