Join the New Bedford Whaling Museum for an unforgettable evening with music, art, and community celebration as AHA! marks 25 years in Downtown New Bedford. The streets will come alive with dancing, live music, a '90s costume parade, kids' activities, a pub crawl, circus arts, and much more. And, of course, AHA! has a few surprises in store. Help us blow out the candles and make this a birthday bash to remember!
New Bedford Whaling Museum
Kick off the fun at 4:00 PM with family-friendly activities at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, free to the public until 7:00 PM.
On the Front Plaza
Enjoy live performances by the Toe Jam Puppet Band and the South Coast Brass Band, and don't miss AHA!'s birthday cake celebration from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM.
In the Parking Lot Across the Street
Get in on the action with lawn games, food trucks, and more!
At Captain Paul Cuffe Park
From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, join artist Elaine Alder in creating a public sculpture, "The Water We’re Swimming In." This marine debris sculpture features North Atlantic right whales emerging from the grass, symbolizing their natural habitat. The piece invites reflection on the critical issue of plastic pollution in our oceans.
Visit the AHA! website for more details about their celebratory activities. More fun is getting added every day. AHA! (Art, History, Architecture) provides a free platform for New Bedford’s creative community to showcase their talents collectively, making arts, culture, and creative expression accessible to all.
