Erica Driver & Sam Allerton Green: PLANTS & PLACES
The exhibition features new work by painters Driver and Green, both of whom live in Rhode Island and paint en plein air. Sam Allerton Green is well known for his outdoor scenes, most especially the shoreline, wharves, and streetscapes of Rhode Island. Erica Driver is most notable for her interiors, including the lush and colorful beauty of flowers and plants inside Rhode Island greenhouses, as well as the charm of intimate garden spaces.
“I am excited to be showing the work of these two talented artists,” states Jessica Hagen. “Though their styles are very different, Erica and Sam both create work that exudes the energy and immediacy that really good plein air painting generates.”

Jessica Hagen Fine Art + Design was founded in 2005 and features contemporary art including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, textiles, and jewelry. Located in the historic Point section of Newport, the gallery’s fall hours are Wednesday- Saturday 11:00- 5:00 and Sunday 12:00- 5:00. The gallery is open by appointment Monday through Wednesday.
