New IMAGO exhibit displays a ‘constellation’ of talent

Imago Foundation for the Arts (IFA) invites audiences to see IFA artists’ work in a new light through “Constellations,” a collective installation offering a rare opportunity to experience the richness and variety of work produced by IFA artists presented as if in dialogue on a single wall. The exhibit is on view Thursday, October 9 through Saturday, November 15 at IMAGO Gallery, 36 Market Street, Warren, RI, and includes a focus on IFA Spotlight Artist Jim Cain, two guest artists Sylvia Vander Sluis, who transforms materials into immersive experiences, and Jonathan Garcia, a painter who creates evocative scenes infused with light and atmosphere, and other artworks by IFA exhibiting artists on display throughout the gallery. All are welcome to attend a public reception for the artists on Saturday, October 11, from 5 – 8 p.m. Music will be provided by Erin and Paul Dube. In planning for this exhibit, Exhibition facilitator Mary Dondero, explained, “Each artist’s piece is a distinct presence within our creative universe, yet together they form a constellation — a shared vision greater than the sum of its parts.” Other IFA exhibiting artists participating in this exhibition include Dot Bergen, Eileen Siobhan Collins, David Clarke, Stephen Fisher, Philip Gruppuso, Gary Heise, Carl Keitner, Lisa Lowenstein, Eileen Mayhew, Linda Megathlin, Mercedes Nuñez, Anne Marie Rossi, Duff Schweninger and Pat Warwick, plus IFA Emerging Artists Eliza Goodwin and Crickett Fisher. Regular gallery hours are Thursdays, 12-3 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 12-6 p.m. and Sundays 12-4 p.m.
