Japan has played a central role in Rotblat-Walker’s life, career and interest in the arts since her childhood. Joined by her artist husband, Howard Rotblat-Walker, the couple spent this past October and November in Japan traveling north to south from Hokkaido to Kyushu returning to favorite sites as well as exploring new ones.
Rotblat-Walker lived in Japan as a toddler after World War II as her father was in the U.S. Army. She also lived in Tokyo and taught English in a junior college after graduating from Middlebury College where she majored in East Asian history. This was the couple's third trip to Japan and their first during the beautiful autumn season. Rotblat-Walker will illustrate her talk with photos from this recent trip.
IFA’s mission is to inspire creativity and promote art-making that enriches our communities by providing a supportive community and exhibition space for members, guest artists and public programs related to the arts
