Cinema 169: The Matrix


Join Gallery X on Friday, June 19 for Cinema 169, a free film screening inspired by the visual art exhibition on view at Gallery X. To coincide with the QUEER FUTURES exhibition we will be screening the 1999 dystopian, sci-fi epic, THE MATRIX directed by Lana & Lilly Wachowski. Reservations recommended, but not required. Doors at 6:30, the screening will begin at 7:00. This screening is free and open to the public, refreshments will be available to purchase inside Gallery X. Cinema 169 is supported in part by a grant from the New Bedford Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Synopsis: What is the Matrix? Have you ever had a dream that you were so sure was real? What if you couldn’t awaken? How would you know the difference between dream and reality?
