Embark on an amazing adventure with BBC's annual Seal and Seabird Cruise. Witness the wintering seals and seabirds in the picturesque Buzzards Bay as we partner with the Cuttyhunk Ferry Company. Join us for a captivating cruise, exploring the waters of Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound, where you can observe and learn about these playful mammals and our visiting seabirds. It's an unforgettable experience in the heart of marine life and scenic wonders. Carefully read through our Seal & Seabird Cruise itinerary, listed below, to ensure a fulfilling experience! 10:00 am - Boarding and Departure from New Bedford: •Welcome aboard the Cuttyhunk Ferry as we set sail from New Bedford. •Enjoy the scenic beauty of Buzzards Bay as we head towards our wildlife adventure. 11:00 am - Seal Viewing Experience: •Expert-led commentary on wintering seals and seabirds. •Up-close observation and photography opportunities. •Learn about the behaviors and habitats of these playful mammals. 12:00 pm - Arrival at Cuttyhunk: •Disembark on Cuttyhunk Island, a charming destination with unique landscapes. •Participants can choose from three exploration options: 1. Guided Hike to the Island's Highest Point for a panoramic view. 2. Self-Guided Walk along Barges Beach for a tranquil beach experience. 3. Independent Exploration: Wander freely around the island at your own pace. 1:00 pm - Boarding and Departure from Cuttyhunk: •Gather for departure from the island and re-board the ferry. 2:00 pm - Return to New Bedford: •Cruise back with a chance for additional wildlife sightings. •Relax, share experiences, and enjoy the journey. Important Notes: •Dress warmly and bring binoculars for optimal wildlife viewing. •Indoor heated area is available on the ferry, but deck views are recommended. •Participants NEED TO BRING their own lunch, snacks, beverages to enjoy on the island because no stores are open on the island. Please note that a selection of hotdogs, chips, soda, beer, and wine is available for purchase on the ferry. •In case of foul weather, cruise cancellation at the captain's discretion, with prompt participant notification and ticket refunds.
