Farewell to Newport
Farewell Street is the artery many people use to enter Newport and it is also surrounded by sites used by many as they exit life. The core of Newport’s burials sites is located along this highway and provide, for many, their first and last glimpse of the city. If you ever wondered about the graves as you travel Farewell Street, this presentation will answer your questions. It will explain the creation of the six burial sites and share some highlights for each. This presentation will take place in the historic Belmont Chapel in Island Cemetery.
