The War of 1812: Dolley Tells All! Presentation Inside Ames Mansion
Fond out about some of the mishaps, missteps, and victories that characterize his war nicknamed America’s Forgotten War. Learn about the influence the War of 1812 had on gov’t policies to fuel the country's growth.

- Events leading up to the War
- Military mishaps and victories
- History of the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides);
- Origin of the National Anthem
- Burning of Washington
- Treaty of Ghent and War's unorthodox outcome
- Lessons our government learned the hard way and resulting changes
The presentation will follow the (brief) annual meeting of the Friends of Borderland.
