Compost Bin Day
Buy a backyard compost bin on Compost Bin Day!
Dartmouth & New Bedford residents who purchase, or previously purchased, a backyard compost bin will receive a Sure-Close kitchen counter bin (2 gallons) FREE while supplies last.
Stainless steel kitchen counter bins (1 gallon) will be available for purchase for $30.28 each, while supplies last.
Either the Sure-Close or the stainless steel kitchen counter bin can be used to collect food waste in your kitchen, and it's then emptied into your backyard compost bin.
To purchase a backyard compost bin, please follow these instructions:
✅ Location: Crapo Hill Landfill, 300 Samuel Barnet Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745. Enter through the New Bedford Business Park.
✅ On 4/6/24, Compost Bin Day is from 8:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Also, compost bins are sold year-round. Hours: Monday – Friday 7:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. -10:45 a.m.
✅ New Bedford and Dartmouth residents only, ID required.
✅ New Age Composter and Earth Machine for sale. Both types of backyard compost bins cost $25 each. Cash, check, or money order only. No credit or debit cards.
The Sure-Close kitchen counter bin and the stainless steel kitchen counter bin are only available on Compost Bin Day.
