The Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band Presents "A Musical Passport" at 7:00PM, Sunday, May 17
The title of this concert is "A Musical Passport!" Travel is the predominant theme for this concert, and we will virtually stamp our musical passports as we travel the world. Musical destinations include Ireland, with a pair of musical poems featuring Lake Oswego’s own Steve Blakley on trumpet, Spain with music inspired two by Spanish dances, Japan with a musical bookmark inspired by a print of a stop on the Taikado highway, the Shenandoah valley with an introspective piece on the beauty of the rain on the river, the American heartland to join in a hoedown, and New York City’s Broadway theatre district. Along with the musical destinations, there will be music inspired by train travel, sprinting (perhaps to catch your plane), and travel through time back to the big band era.
As always, the program will be eclectic and exciting, with something for everyone and every musical taste. Come early and visit the artists while listening to the pre-concert music in the lobby..
