JT Wise at Hops on Tap
JT Wise is a formidable force on guitar, prolific songwriter and recording engineer. He is joined by bassist, soulful singer and songwriting partner Maggie Wise. Describing themselves as purveyors of good time music. Dynamic, not ordinary and crossing the musical traditions.
The husband and wife are life long performers on the Portland and Vancouver area music scene. Sharing their indisputable talent performing as a duo or band.
JT is influenced by all the great guitarists and has a stylized sound whether on the acoustic, resonator or electric guitars. Follow their journey filled with characters, funny tales, and stories of a life well traveled. Topped with plenty of musical twists and turns, improvisation and vocal harmonies.

You will hear many influences. The swampy “Black Valley Railroad”, country rock inspired “Queens Anne Lace”, amusing “Aunt Irene” - married 9 times, and the catchy rock of “Mr. C’s Boots”. They perform originals tunes that are both fun and refreshing. At shows they also perform a mix of covers including the music of Jerry Garcia.
