Harriton History Camp Session Two

The Harriton Association is pleased to announce two week-long sessions of history themed camp for the Summer of 2023. Each week campers participate in activities centered around life at Harriton House across a time span of three centuries. We explore and learn about the life and times of actual Harriton residents, from the early 1700s when the farm was established as Bryn Mawr through the early 20th century when it became famous as a Golden Guernsey dairy. Activities include caring for the farm animals, making paper, baking/cooking in the historic kitchen, exploring the creek, playing 18th and early 19th century games, dipping candles, and churning ice cream. Each day brings a new set of adventures to discover in a unique setting for hands-on learning. History Camp is lead by The Harriton Association’s professional museum staff, living history volunteers, and counselors with previous Harriton camp experience. Suitable for children ages 8 - 12 years of age, grades 3 - 6, our camp program is designed to meet or exceed Pennsylvania state standards for history education. Campers bring their own lunches, Harriton provides a daily snack and drinking water. We prefer a limited technology experience, discouraging the use of cell phones during camp hours. Registration is limited to 12 campers per week. We will require compliance with any COVID-19 protocols mandated by Montgomery County at the time of camp. Parents with questions regarding their children’s participation in camp can call the Harriton Association’s office at 610-525-0201. Early registration is encouraged as camp space is limited and enrolls on a first-come, first-served basis. Camp Tuition $300.00 per child per week $250.00 per child per week for members of The Harriton Association Register for camp by calling 610-525-0201 or by email to: [email protected].
