Book (re-) Launch and Readings
Catherine Gammon is a fiction writer and Soto Zen priest. Her most recent book is the 2024 story collection The Gunman and the Carnival from Baobab Press. Her novels are The Martyrs, The Lovers (55 Fathoms, 2023), China Blue (Bridge Eight Press, 2021), Sorrow (Braddock Avenue Books, 2013) and Isabel Out of the Rain (Mercury House, 1991). Her early story collection is Beauty and the Beast (lulu.com, 2012).
Anjali Sachdeva’s short story collection, All the Names They Used for God, was the winner of the 2019 Chautauqua Prize and the 2022 Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire (France), and was named a Best Book of 2018 by NPR. It was named a Best Book of 2018 by NPR, Refinery 29, and BookRiot, longlisted for the Story Prize, and chosen as the 2018 Fiction Book of the Year by the Reading Women podcast.
Jennifer Bannan’s first short story collection, Inventing Victor, was published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2003. She has had stories in the Autumn House Press anthology, Keeping the Wolves at Bay, and has been published in literary journals including the Kenyon Review, ACM, Passages North, Chicago Quarterly Review, and more. Her nonfiction has appeared in The Millions, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Rumpus, The Washington Post, and others. Her latest short story collection, Tamiami Trail: Miami Stories, releases in Fall 2025. She lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, Sean Eckenrod, and youngest son, Cypress Bard.
