Salon Style Dance Performance with Special Guest Rebekah Del Rio of David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive”
Join Attack Theatre for a one-night-only salon-style evening of movement and song, inspired by the genius of David Lynch.
For this 5:30pm – 7:00pm happy hour experience, savor each exquisite sip of a specially crafted cocktail by Kingfly Spirits as you immerse yourself in a world that is "wild at heart and weird on top."
Attack Theatre will pull back the velvet curtain and offer a surreal evening of dance vignettes inspired by the genius of David Lynch, as Kingfly Spirits mezzanine is transformed into the “Bang Bang Bar”.
Velvet Vignettes audiences will walk through a moving panoply of images, icons, movement and sound and will be treated to a special appearance of La Llorona de Los Angeles (singer, Rebekah Del Rio) who brings her iconic, dreamlike vocal sound made famous from David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks.
Rebekah Del Rio, the extraordinary artist who mesmerized audiences with her performance at Attack Theatre's 2019 The Kitchen Sink at the New Hazlett Theater returns to Pittsburgh, igniting the stage once again with her luminary collaboration with David Lynch. Patrons should brace themselves for an evening replete with enigma and fascination. As our esteemed guests, you will embark on a journey traversing multiple performance spaces that will unveil the sublime and the mysterious.
Michele de la Reza, Attack Theatre’s Artistic Executive Director notes, “We are thrilled to work again with Rebekah and to partner with Kingfly Spirits. In this intimate space her luscious melodies will intertwine with an ethereal ambiance, creating an immersive experience that will be both breathtakingly beautiful and captivatingly peculiar.” She adds, “And I'm so excited that Pittsburgh audiences will have two opportunities to see her perform this weekend.”
Attack Theatre will also make a guest appearance in Rebekah Del Rio’s No Hay Banda 2023 tour at Row House Cinema (Hollywood) on November 4th for a screening of David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, concert and autograph session.
Artistic Director Peter Kope continues, “It’s a David Lynch weekend! Velvet Vignettes will be a quirky and quizzical kick-off to a weekend of Lynchian fun. You’ll want to re-watch Wild at Heart or Blue Velvet or Twin Peaks, then meet us at Kingfly for a drink, a song and a dreamlike dance experience."
