The Great Pumpkin Smash
Celebrate the end of the Halloween season at the Science Center! Toss your carved pumpkins from a designated drop zone and watch them splatter to the ground.
Come for the thrill and learn about the physics behind why these colorful gourds smash, splatter, and even bounce. Halloween isn’t over until the last pumpkin falls!
-Bring in your carved pumpkin to the Ticket Counter and receive $5 off general admission.*
-Then drop your pumpkin high above our 16 ft. portico and watch it splatter.
-Watch as our museum educators use liquid nitrogen to explode pumpkins during special demonstrations at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.
-Visitors are encouraged to get in the spirit by wearing their Halloween costumes one last time.
Discount Details
-One $5 discount per pumpkin, per person.
-Offer valid only on Sat., Nov. 1, 2025.
-Cannot be stacked or combined with other discounts, group rates, or online purchases.
-Activities run between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
