This year's event promises to be an unforgettable evening, celebrating the strength, resilience, and diversity of our vibrant community.
For almost two decades, Big Night has served as a celebration to bring together members, supporters, and friends of the JCC to support our vital programs and services. Whether it’s helping our Early Childhood students learn how to read, preparing teenagers for college, or serving seniors a hot lunch five days a week, every age benefits from support for the JCC.
"Big Night: Shining a Light on Community" will highlight the impact of JCC’s supporters and our commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and service. The event will feature live music, dancing, food, raffle, silent auction, entertainment, and unique ways of shining a light on our sponsors and community.
The JCC, one of the largest social service, recreational and educational organizations in the region, is committed to meeting the challenges of this constantly changing environment with vigilance and creativity, providing life sustaining, meaningful and enriching programs and services, ever-mindful of the vital needs of a community that is in critical need of support and connection.
While Big Night raises a large portion of the money needed to provide scholarships and support for essential programs from early childhood education to older adult activities, it is also an opportunity for the JCC to open our doors to the community and say, “thank you.” Last year, the JCC provided $2.4 million dollars in scholarships, enabling individuals of all backgrounds, abilities, religions and financial need to participate in the JCC’s quality programs and services.
This year, we will also be honoring our longtime former President and CEO Brian Schreiber. Leading in his role for almost three decades, Brian embodies leadership for our community day in and day out with humility and commitment. With an aspirational goal of raising $50 million, the JCC envisions a day when 100% of financial assistance is fully funded and the need for annual operations to cover scholarships is eliminated. A portion of Big Night funds raised this year will go toward seeding this new endowment.
