Fall In Love With Your Garden Again

Kim Eierman—Environmental Horticulturist & Landscape Designer; EcoBeneficial, LLC Author of The Pollinator Victory Garden, Kim will focus on how each of us can help reduce pollinator decline though ecological gardening with native plants. Both diversity and sufficiency of plants are needed to provide pollinators with the variety of flower shapes, colors, and fragrances required from early spring to late fall. Life span, foraging trips per day, color preferences, and in some cases, scent all play a role in selecting perennials, shrubs, and trees for an effective pollinator habitat. Jenny Rose Carey—Former Senior Director, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Meadowbrook Farm In her latest book, The Ultimate Flower Gardener’s Guide, Jenny compares gardening to the performing arts, with various movements coming into play as gardening seasons change, and each plant with a different role to play. Instead of relying solely on color, she believes in bringing flower shape, size and texture to the fore, placing plants together in a complimentary, aesthetically pleasing way. Jenny’s design style is a bit plant-packed, cottage-garden with performers edging out and shading weeds.
