Quantum Theatre’s Scenes from an Execution
Quantum Theatre will end its 2023-2024 season in 16th century Venice for Scenes from an Execution by Howard Barker. Directed by Andrew William Smith, this production sets the stage for a fearless exploration of sexual politics and the tension between personal ambition and moral responsibility. The rebel painter Galactia (Lisa Velten Smith) is commissioned by the Doge to paint a vast canvas celebrating a triumphant battle. The results defy expectation, as does this play.
