A new multi-media musical production that reimagines the Genesis story in ways that will forever change how you think about it. With operatic, musical theater and new music influences, Eve Apart explores primal themes of feminine powers, with a stark and modern relevance. Using voice, music, video and choreography, Eve Apart explores gender identity, myth, religious paradigm and human nature.
Eve Apart was created by Tennessee composer Tim Hinck with libretto by Pittsburgh's Kip Soteres. The work features a cast of nine singers, a live musical ensemble and multimedia technology. The Pittsburgh cast includes Pittsburgh-based singers Desiree Soteres (operatic soprano) and Donovan Smith (recently hailed as Enjolras in Pittsburgh Musical Theater's Les Miserables) and Chattanooga-based singers David Tahere and Sara Snider Schone. Also featuring Pittsburgh singers Jenifer Weber, Amanda Joos, Ashley Episcopo, Billy Wayne Coakley and Nathan Hart. Eve Apart will be conducted in Pittsburgh by Federico Garcia of Alia Musica.
A portion of the proceeds from each performance will benefit the Midwife Center of Pittsburgh.
