Jeremiah Johnson screening at Western Spirit Museum
Experience the acclaimed Western Jeremiah Johnson (1972) at Western Spirit Museum as part of the Still in the Saddle exhibit and film series. Starring Robert Redford and Will Geer, the film follows a former soldier seeking solitude in the Rocky Mountains whose life becomes shaped by survival, conflict, and the untamed wilderness of the American frontier. Widely regarded as one of the defining Western films of the 1970s, the movie blends breathtaking landscapes with a powerful story of resilience and isolation. Western Spirit Chief Curator and Western cinema expert Dr. Andrew Patrick Nelson will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion exploring its themes, legacy, and lasting influence on the Western genre. Admission is free for museum members and included with museum admission, or guests may attend the program only for $10. Rated PG. Runtime: 1 hour 48 minutes.
