Witness the 2 February 2024 opening night of the Black Theatre Troupe’s production of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson. An exploration of the human and familial ties that bind, this play reflects on the value of tradition and traditions as cultural and familial identity markers and signifiers.
Opening night ticket of $75 plus a $2 service fee includes a 6:30 pm dessert reception and the production of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson at 7:30 pm, followed immediately by production talk back facilitated by Dr. Neal Lester, Founding Director of ASU Project Humanities. In further support of ASU Project Humanities’ ten-year-old outreach program where we distribute biweekly shoes, clothing, and toiletries to over 250 unsheltered adults, attendees are invited to bring 2 bars of soap and/or a new/ gently used backpack.
