Workshops For Adults – Desert Landscaping with Stephanie Halcrow: (Half-Day Workshop)
Looking for a new way to keep your yard sustainable? Interested in Frank Lloyd Wright’s approach to sustainable gardening? During this in-depth class on landscape gardening, you will learn more about why the plants of the native southwest appealed to Frank Lloyd Wright as well as learn some of the little-known tips and tricks for maintaining your plants throughout the seasons. You’ll come away with a greater appreciation for Frank Lloyd Wright and the native southwestern landscape through hands-on learning experiences and an opportunity to learn from certified Master Gardener Stephanie Halcrow.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
• Appreciate why the plants and landscape of the southwest appealed to Frank Lloyd Wright and how they influenced his designs.
• Grow confidence in your ability to select plants for successful gardening in a desert landscape.
• Learn about some of the most common mistakes in landscape design and maintenance and how to avoid them.
• Come away with greater knowledge on how to properly water and care for your garden in different seasons and environments.
• Receive information about gardening in Arizona and the Southwest region, specific to extreme temperatures and dry weather.
