“True safety begins with awareness.” That is the core of a new two-part series presented by Shooter’s World. On Saturday, Nov. 15, Shooter’s World Goodyear hosts the VALOR Safety Experience, led by Jamie Gissel, founder of Valor Threat Protection and a 20-year SWAT veteran. These classroom-based courses feature two unique educational experiences, which can be taken separately or together. Each provides the core principles that law enforcement professionals rely on, adapted for real life. VALOR Mindset: Situational Awareness Saturday, Nov. 15 | 10-11:30 a.m. Part one is designed to help students learn to read their environment, spot pre-attack indicators and trust their instincts. This class is designed to strengthen participants’ mental readiness so they can respond calmly and confidently when every second counts. It covers the VALOR principles: verify, avoid, lockdown, observe and respond. This is a proven framework designed to maximize survivability and peace of mind. VALOR Active Shooter Survival Saturday, Nov. 15 | Noon-1:30 p.m. Part two guides participants through how to recognize warning signs, make rapid and informed decisions, and act decisively during a violent incident at work, school or in a public setting. Based on the same VALOR principles covered in part one, this course will reshape how participants think, perceive and act in any situation. Each course is $49.99++ individually or $79.99 together. There is a 30-minute break between the two courses. Family participation is encouraged, and teens are welcome. Capacity is just 24 students per class to ensure an intimate and valuable learning experience for all.
