Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable Meeting- Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 6 PM
Professor George Rable's free lecture will focus on the troubled relationship between President Abraham Lincoln and General George McClellan. General McClellan was thought to be able to organize an army bu would not or could not fight. As President Lincoln once said, McClellan had "the slows" and had to be removed from command of the Union Army. This lecture will not focus on General McClellan's military campaigns but instead on the politics of the clash between Lincoln and McClellan and its impacts on the course of the American Civil War
