This fall, Civic Center Library will present Desert Dark - a captivating series of true crime programs, exploring the darker side of Arizona’s history. Set to take place on November 7 - 9 at Civic Center Library, these free events invite the public to delve into some of the most compelling and mysterious cases that have shaped the state’s criminal landscape. The series aims to educate and engage the community with an immersive look at infamous Arizona crimes. The lineup features expert-led discussions from the Scottsdale Police Department, AZ Family’s Morgan Loew, Scottsdale Community College and other community partners. Whether you’re a seasoned true crime aficionado or simply curious, join Scottsdale Public Library for this three-day event. All community members are encouraged to attend, but the programs are best suited for adults due to the subject matter.

- Nov. 7 at 11am: Financial Crimes presented by Scottsdale Police Department
- Nov. 7 at 2:30pm: Crime Analyst Case Discussion presented by Scottsdale Police Department
- Nov. 7 at 5:30pm: Scoundrels, Rascals, and Cutthroats presented by Bruce Wall
- Nov. 8 at 1:30pm: Book Discussion: "Killer Girlfriend: The Jodi Arias Story" by Brian Skoloff, led by Scottsdale Public Library
- Nov. 8 at 3pm: Police Drones presented by Scottsdale Police Department
- Nov. 9 at 12pm: Phoenix Canal Murders presented by Morgan Loew
- Nov. 9 at 2:30pm: Fatal Crash Investigations presented by Walter Olsen from Scottsdale Community College
