Free Arts Presents Storybook Ballet 2025: Peter Pan

Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona (Free Arts) and Dance Theatre West are partnering to bring Storybook Ballet 2025: Peter Pan to the community on Sunday, September 14 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Foster care children and teens, ages 8 – 18 years old, will be performing with Dance Theatre West. This free dance performance is lighthearted, fun and perfect for the entire family. “Each year, our collaboration with Dance Theatre West becomes more impactful,” said Matt Sandoval, Executive Director of Free Arts. “This year’s performance is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when young people are given the chance to express themselves. The courage and creativity our participants showed on stage is a direct reflection of the care, guidance, and inspiration they receive from our longtime partners at Dance Theatre West.” The event will be held on September 14 at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, located at 7380 East 2nd Street, Scottsdale, AZ. The exhibit gallery will open at 2:00 p.m., the dance performance at 3 p.m. and a community art activity will take place at 4 p.m. This program is possible through generous support from Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, Valley of the Sun United Way, Suzie Silverman, and Dance Theater West. In addition to the performance, professional teaching artistsFrancisco Garcia (visual arts), DJ Dimension (music), Steve Price (spoken word), Shelly Love (photography) and Denise Garcia (visual arts) spent several weeks with the other children from our partner agencies to explore Peter Pan themes through visual arts workshops in Free Arts Professional Artist Series Program. Before and after the performance, their final exhibits will be on display in the lobby. The performance is free to attend to RSVP visit: https://freeartsaz.org/storybook-ballet-2025/ About Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona Founded in 1993, Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona is a non-profit organization that transforms children’s trauma to resilience through the arts.
