City of Scottsdale Kicks Off Western Week with New Activities JAN. 27-28

Western Week begins Saturday, Jan. 27 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 4 and includes an array of happenings that tip their hat to Old Town’s Western roots and heritage.
All new this year is the Western Week Kick Off event, taking place in throughout Historic Old Town on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Guests can enjoy the following:
-Live music and street entertainment including Gary Sprague and his trusted horse Dusty, living statues and a balloon artist
-“Did You Know?” historical tours
- A beer garden
-Roping demonstrations at the Rodeo Museum
-Blacksmithing demonstrations at the Cavalliere Blacksmith Shop
-A hat bar and permanent jewelry pop-up at the Merchantile Market
-Flute music and cultural demonstrations at the Native Art Market
When they’re ready for a sweet (and buzzy!) treat, guests can receive 15% off their order at Buzzed Bull Creamery or enjoy live music while sipping a specialty Prickly Pear Margarita at the Rusty Spur Saloon.

The fun continues on Sunday, Jan. 28 at the Scottsdale Waterfront from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. with a schedule of events including:
-Western music from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
-Line dancing lessons beginning at noon and 1 p.m.
-Performances by Johnny Hotshot at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Most of these events are free to attend (excluding purchases) and registration is not required.
Western Week features an array of additional activities throughout the week and ends the following weekend with the 70th Annual Scottsdale Parada Del Sol Historic Parade and Trail’s End Festival on Saturday, Feb. 3 and the Arizona Indian Festival on Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4.
