Hellbilly Holler Halloween Haunt

Hellbilly Holler is a moderately scary display haunt that is always FREE. In 2020 we won the AZhaunters prize for best display haunt. Local artist, Michaela Nastasia, has transformed her desert-landscaped yard into a wretched bayou, replete with cursed cannibals, wicked wendigos and a spellbinding swamp witch. Each year we strive to expand the haunt introducing new props, lighting, and projection. We have added quite a bit of solar lighting so the haunt can be in "Nightlight"mode after closing. Hellbilly Holler is about 1/2 custom built and 1/2 store bought. In 2021 we introduced our Wendigos in a laser vortex tunnel. The year after, we added "The Twins" Merle & Earl, our bile puking water feature, as well as a scarecrow named "Beakistair Crowley". This year, you will meet "The Bone Collector", who digs graves and grinds bones that the Swamp Witch uses in her potions. Entertainment in the Holler this year includes "Frank Sinrata", who briefly dated Lucia the Swamp Witch. When their relationship turned sour, she took both his singing voice and his soul, placed it in her pet rat, making the first ever "Rat Pack". Sitting in the perpetual rocking chair this year is yet a new character cradling his freakish baby. Maybe you could join him by singing a lullaby? Legend has it.... This is what happens when a bunch of hillbillies were too lazy to leave the Holler to do some food shopping. All hell broke loose! The recently dead can't taste that bad, can they? Graveyards were raided until there was nothing left. Now what? Three hillbillies, Jethro, Bocephus, and Vincent ventured down to the wetlands to seek out Lucia the Swamp Witch. They conspired to lure tourists into their lair. The Hellbillies get the meat, the Witch gets the souls, and the rest goes to the gators in the swamp. This arrangement costs them dearly. Souls wear thin when canniBa'alism is practiced. Madam Athena, Gypsy fortune teller, wanders the countryside warning travelers to steer clear of Hellbilly Holler. Her foreboding often goes unheeded as travelers seeking potions of love, youth, and revenge venture to the holler for Lucia's dark assistance. Many become dinner, few escape. What will your fate be?
