Creche Festival

The Crèche Festival is back for its fifth year! The Festival began its humble beginnings in 2018, with 20 crèches (nativity scenes) brought in by members of the Casa Choir and the Friars. The Festival has grown to fill the Virgina G. Piper Community Life Center with over 300 crèches on loan from members of The Casa’s Faith Community. Last year, the Festival highlighted the 800th anniversary of St. Francis and Christmas at Greccio. Francis, who dedicated his life to following in the footsteps of Christ, created a living nativity to celebrate Christ’s birth in “a new way.” Francis visualized that first crèche with an ox, an ass, and hay. People from the region were invited to come and see the humility of our Savior’s birth. We are grateful for the continued growth of the festival as we focus on the hope and joy of the Incarnation. Crèche Festival Schedule SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14 Open 10:00 a.m.-6:45 p.m. in the Community Life Center Buon Natale Greccio-7:00 p.m. in the church This show is about St. Francis and Christmas at Greccio. It features the Casa Choir ` and musicians, with new music this year from “Canticle of Joy.” The festival will close during the performance and re-open after the show until 9:30pm.
