Summer Spectacular Gold Palette ArtWalk Takes Place July 9,


Summer is here, and the Scottsdale Gallery Association and its member galleries are celebrating with a cool way to enjoy art in the Old Town! On Thursday, July 9 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., the Summer Spectacular Gold Palette ArtWalk takes place throughout the Scottsdale Arts District, which runs along Main Street from Scottsdale Road to Goldwater Boulevard and north of Indian School Road on Marshall Way to 5th Avenue. As they stroll through the Scottsdale Arts District, guests can enjoy live music and peruse stunning artwork in all mediums within cool, air-conditioned galleries. “Summertime in Scottsdale is a unique time for residents to truly explore all the amazing experiences that visitors from around the world come here to see and do,” said SGA President Jinger Richardson. “This is the perfect time for locals to enjoy and support our Scottsdale Arts District galleries, restaurants and retailers.” Summer Spectacular events happening within participating member galleries include: Anticus Fine Art Gallery 3922 N. Scottsdale Rd. Anticus is pleased to present “Common Threads: Where Distinction Becomes Connection” during the ArtWalk. This curated collection of works draws breath from shared human experiences, exploring the many ways beauty finds its way into people’s lives and speaks to something deeper within. These collective works are a visual representation that reflects the connections that surround individuals every day. They are meant to remind people that meaning, wonder and beauty are often found in the spaces where stories intersect. Showcasing works from more than 30 different artists, Anticus invites guests to follow those threads throughout this collection and discover the moments of beauty that resonate. The artist in gallery for the evening is Kay Nari. Bonner David Galleries 7040 E. Main St. “Sweet”, a vibrant group exhibition celebrating the playful intersection of color, nostalgia and indulgence, will be on display during the ArtWalk and through Thursday, July 16. The exhibition transforms familiar confections and childhood memories into imaginative works of contemporary art. Featuring works by Karen Shapiro, John Schieffer, Jane Jones, Francis Livingston, Robert Johnson, Henry Stinson, Gabriele Koenig Rewis, Kathrine Lempke Waste and Peter Anton, “Sweet” explores the visual language of candy and popular culture through a variety of artistic approaches. Pejman Gallery 7130 E. Main St. During the ArtWalk, art enthusiasts are invited to peruse the many stunning masterpieces within Pejman Gallery, including vibrant yet soothing scenes such as “Blue Skies” and “Day's End in the Desert” painted by artist Bob Pejman. These paintings evoke feelings of warm summer nights, stunning sunsets and the peaceful tranquility of the Arizona landscape. Quan’tum Art, Inc. 7077 E. Main St., #16 During the ArtWalk, Quan’tum Art, Inc., will be featuring artwork by John Gleason, Jacque L Keller and Suzanne Larson, along with works by ceramicist Alvin Pace and collage artist Laura Pascal. The Signature Gallery 7177 E. Main St. The Signature Gallery presents the “Sonoran Oasis” group show. This summer showcase invites guests to experience a vibrant celebration of summer through artwork that evokes tranquility, wonder and the beauty of the season in the southwestern region. An exceptional collection of works will be on display by select artists, including renowned painter Charles Pabst, ethereal impressionist painter Manuel Avendano, acclaimed bronze sculptor Raymond Gibby, contemporary impasto painter Cara Moran, premier landscape painter Reid Richardson and additional featured artists whose works capture the beauty, color and spirit of the Sonoran Desert in full bloom. In addition to fine art and live music, guests can enjoy refreshing Italian sodas and festive summer vibes while exploring the gallery’s newest arrivals and meeting the attending artists. Wilde Meyer Gallery 4142 N. Marshall Way “Canvas Chronicles: A Visual Journey” will be on display for the month of July with a reception during the ArtWalk. Guests can enjoy a group show of talented artists, including Jeremy Serna, Manny Valenzuela, Michelle Andres and more, along with light refreshments. The Scottsdale Gallery Association has been hosting its weekly ArtWalk for 52 years, making it the longest-running art walk in the country. Held nearly every Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in partnership with the city of Scottsdale, the Scottsdale Gallery Association’s weekly ArtWalk highlights the finest art in Scottsdale, featured throughout more than 30 galleries and two museums: Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West.
