Shire's Big Give

The donation of a single winter coat could make all the difference in allowing a child to feel warm, safe and ready for school. Shire's Big Give invites everyone in the greater Philadelphia region to donate clothing and school supplies to more than 5,000 local children living in poverty right in their communities. Much-needed items include new socks and underwear, pants for boys age 7 and up, sneakers and any baby items including strollers and diaper bags. Notebooks, backpacks, and folders are also in high demand. Since 2008, Shire's Big Give has fought back against child poverty by delivering clothing, books, toys, and school supplies to more than 14,000 children in need. The Big Give is a region-wide collection drive for Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit organization serving the greater Philadelphia region that distributes the essentials for children from birth to 12 through local agencies. Donations received at Shire's Big Give will be sorted at Cradles to Crayons' Giving Factory, where volunteers pick out a week's worth of clothing in a specific size and create a personalized KidsPack for each child.
