For Makers Meetup #19 we will be featuring some of our top medtech innovators while hearing an update from one of our Maker Meetup alums. : the Noria Smart Air Conditioner
We'll start off with Amira Idris introducing TheraV, which has developed technology to assist amputees deal with 'phantom pain' without use of narcotics or invasive surgery. Amira is the former intern-organizer of the Meetup and her company graduated from NextFab's accelerator. Next up will be serial entrepreneur Francis Osborne of Action Medical Technologies. They have developed an incredibly simple, and inexpensive, self-injector that might just supplant the EpiPen (and which has many other potential uses). We will also be hearing from Brianna Wronko of GroupK Diagnostics, a leading medtech 'graduate' of the Singh Center for Nanotechnology. Then finally, we'll chill-out as Don Pancoe provides an update on the amazing progress being made to bring the Noria Smart Air Conditioner to the market. Noria raised more than $2 million through their Indiegogo campaign. I visited their booth at CES and can't wait to install one of their units in the window of my daughter's NYC apartment.
The program, networking and pizza will kick off at 5:00 with a table-top Showcase featuring the presenting companies and sponsors as well as Foxhole, headed by military veteran Faith Leibman.
