The Adventurists - Afternoon Tea

What-ho adventurers, boondogglers and rapscallions, the Afternoon Tea revolution is coming to the US of A, on 9 July 2011 in the fine city of Philadelphia! The Adventurists and Hendrick's Gin shall be winging their way across the Pond to put on the most splendid of tea parties.

Spearheading this tremendous happening will be Legend of Adventure Charles Brewer-Carias Esq. The son of a British diplomat, he has led over 200 expeditions in his native Venezuela, written an impressive array of books and discovered the world's largest quartzite cave. Moreover, he has over 30 species of plant and animal named after him, has lived extensively with the Yekuana tribe and even holds the record for starting fire with sticks (2.7 seconds).  Aged 71, he still does 80 pull-ups every morning!

Tea will be taking place at the Union League in downtown Philly. As this is a most salubrious establishment, frequented by stylish ladies and gentlemen, I'm afraid you will need to throw on your finery. If you pitch up in trainers, shorts or jeans I'm afraid their doorman will turn you away.

So, chaps and chapesses, dig out those brogues, fancy pants and tea-dresses and make this an Afternoon Tea with a bit of glamor.
