American-born Singer Sewing Machine heiress Winnaretta Singer became the Princess de Polinac when she married a titled (but bankrupt) aristocratic composer, Prince Edmond de Polignac. Together the two created one of the most famous salons in Paris, one that Winneretta would continue well into the 20th century. This far-reaching, but little known story takes a look at 50 years of Singer’s influence on music, and on Paris.
