Saturday, March 1st will begin a new Philadelphia tradition. With 10,000 active Mummers, it's time we get Philadelphia on the map for Mardi Gras! For years, Philadelphia's New Year's celebration has been revered around the country. The uniqueness of something so outrageously different, fun, and unifying. An entire city, from all different walks of life, comes together on a cold winter day, for one simple reason…… MUMMERY.
With a strong appreciation for tradition, ADVENT felt that they could fill a void in the Philadelphia event landscape, while raising money to support the deeply rooted Mummers organizations.
Philadelphia Mummers Mardi Gras is an event that will allow spectators the access they have always wanted; a 6 hour party with Mummers representing all divisions. The event was designed to benefit the Mummers but to incorporate other live music and acts to relieve them of their constant marching and performing. This event will recognize all that the Mummers do for Philadelphia just 2 months after their big parade day.
