World renowned pianist and Founder and Director of PYPA, pianist Ching-Yun Hu will open the festival with first concert of the ten-day series. Just back from a sold-out world concert tour, she will perform at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for one-night only. Ms. Hu explores the Spanish composer Isaac Albéniz’s Iberia, Books I and II, and Frédéric Chopin's Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58. Hear Chopin’s contemporary, French composer Charles-Valentin Alkan’s Le festin d'Ésope (Aesop's Feast), Op. 39, No. 12. Delivering a Mediterranean-inspired program, this virtuosic program will take place at the Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA.
