Happy Birthday Ben! Celebrate Philadelphia’s favorite founding father and our very own namesake on his 314th birthday. The Franklin Institute’s birthday bash for Ben promises to be a fun, festive event featuring hands-on programming, science demos, and Franklin-related artifacts from the Institute’s collections on display.
Enjoy ice cream courtesy of our friends at Franklin Fountain, listen to a special rendition of Happy Birthday played on Franklin’s favorite musical instrument—the glass armonica, and watch as “Ben Franklin” himself performs some of his infamous experiments.
Snap a selfie in front of the 20-foot Benjamin Franklin statue in the National Memorial, take part in hair-raising electricity experiments, and learn all about Franklin’s many accomplishments.
