Jake Shimabukuro blew everyone away at this year's Philadelphia Folk Festival. It's amazing when a crowd of 10,000 is totally silent, mesmerized by just a guy with a 4 string ukulele. His performances defy label or category, his adeptness at playing all genre's of music, jazz, blues, classical, bluegrass, folk, flamenco, rock and even funk, takes the ukulele well beyond the traditional Hawaiian music it's associated with….but he'll throw some of that in as well! Called the Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele, Jake's You Tube video of his incredible version of George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps� has been viewed almost 2 million times. Needless to say, we're thrilled to have Jake back at The Colonial.
