The Clay Studio presents Clay & Conversations, an exciting series of informal conversations with ceramic artists, curators, and scholars. On June 3 at 1 p.m., join Jennifer Zwilling, Curator of Artistic Programs, at a special time, with Pride Pots artist Heather Mae Erickson and Dr. Travis Rountree. During this session, guests will hear about Pride Pots, Erickson’s experiential, socially-engaged project that cultivated over 25 cultural events promoting LGBTQ+ visibility in the communities surrounding the University of Western Carolina. This talk will be followed by a free, hands-on event, where in-person attendees will get to create their own pots inspired by their identities. Please RSVP to [email protected] for the hands-on portion.
The Clay Studio serves as a place where established and emerging artists can come to shape their careers through its internationally-renowned artist residency, exhibitions, and community engagement programs.
