Enchantment Theatre Company is honoring Dr. Dennis Creedon, Assistant Superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia, at the Opening Benefit and Performance of Aladdin and Other Enchanting Tales on Saturday, December 21st starting at 1 p.m. at the Arts Bank Theatre at Broad and South Streets on the Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia. Dr. Creedon will receive the 2013 Eden Award for his years of service to the youth of Philadelphia. Honorary Co-Chairs of the event include The Honorable Michael A. Nutter, Mayor of Philadelphia; The Honorable Blondell Reynolds Brown, Philadelphia Councilwoman At-Large; Dr. William Hite, Superintendent of The School District of Philadelphia; Pedro Ramos, Esq., Former Chairman of School Reform Commission; and Michael Norris, Interim Executive Director of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
The Benefit begins at a reception in the lobby of the Arts Bank Theatre that is being transformed into a Persian Bazaar. At 1 p.m. there will be refreshments and family activities including Mask making, Magic Puppet Theatre, Enchanted Costume Trunk, Character Pictures and more. The award presentation and performance will be at 2 p.m. followed by a meet and greet with the actors.
Individual tickets to the Opening Reception and Performance are $50 for an adult and $25 for a child. Sponsorship Opportunities are available as well at the $1,000, $500 and $250 levels. Proceeds benefit Enchantment Theatre Company; contributions are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. Tickets and sponsorships can be ordered online or call 215-496-9160.
