While the recipients of these awards are not exclusively authors and artists of African descent, the Glyph Comics Awards does its best to honor and recognize those creators making great contributions to the African image in graphic novel, comic strip and comic books. By doing so, we hope to encourage more diverse and high-quality work across the board and to inspire new creators to add their voices to the field.
