The Academy of Natural Sciences and Drexel University will host Academy/Drexel Affiliation Day on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Free and fun for the public, the Open House day offers free museum admission and activities to celebrate the completion of an affiliation agreement between the Academy and Drexel. The historic affiliation promotes learning, discovery, and civic engagement in the natural and environmental sciences, creating an internationally recognized powerhouse in scientific research and education. Pose for pictures with 'Mario' the Dragon and the Academy's Triceratops mascot. Make dinosaur and dragon puppets to take home. Meet Academy and Drexel scientists at a dozen activity tables. Enjoy face painting. Visit Dinosaur Hall to see dinosaur skeletons on display, including Tyrannosaurus rex hunt for dinosaur bones in The Big Dig hands-on exhibit and watch fossils being prepared for study in the Fossil Prep Lab.
