Koresh Dance Company Presents Aftershock

Culture shock in hindsight, Aftershock reflects the impact of Ronen Koresh's immigration to the United States from Israel in the 1980s. Of his dual belonging and its effect on his choreography, Koresh states: "Israel is a huge part of my life, it's what defines me as a person”the culture, the tension, the love of life, the passion, the heat, the music and food, the complexity of racial and cultural integration. My work is Middle Eastern culture coupled with American experience. Aftershock examines how that rich combination grew from an initial moment of uncertainty, and expanded through its reverberations.
