Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse and The Pincus Family Foundation will host the 3rd Annual celebration of the life of David Pincus local philanthropist, art collector, and Smith supporter on Saturday, October 10 from 12pm -4pm. Families are invited to Smith Memorial Playground for this FREE event which will include fun on the playground; hot dogs and ice cream; children's costumed characters including Clifford the Big Red Dog presented by WHYY; a free book giveaway presented by the Free Library of Philadelphia's READ! by 4th initiative; and participation in Imagination Foundations' Global Cardboard Challenge led by Pop-up Play.
The Global Cardboard Challenge is an annual event presented by the Imagination Foundation that celebrates and encourages creativity in children by inviting youth of all ages to build something using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. During the Cardboard Challenge at Smith, children and their families are encouraged to re-imagine all the things that cardboard could be through cardboard-based building activities and games led by Pop-up Play youth leaders.
