Rowan University’s Department of Music welcomes the 2017 International Women’s Brass Conference to campus for a four-day event June 7-10, featuring a series of public performances in addition to daily presentations, panels, recitals, and competitions for participants. The schedule of concerts include performances by guest artists as well as Rowan ensembles and individuals
Performers include: Rowan's Wind Ensemble, showcasing performers Amy Schumaker Bliss, Donna Parkes, Velvet Brown, and Julia McIntyre. Athena Brass Band, the first all-female brass band in the United States, featuring Racquel Rodriguez and Helen Harrelson. The Diva Jazz Orchestra, with its progressive take on the traditional big bands. The five-member ensemble that is Seraph Brass performs. And concludes the series of concerts with Monarch Brass Ensemble, founded by IWBC founder Susan Slaughter.
