The Friends of Rittenhouse Square will be celebrating its annual tree lighting in Rittenhouse Square Park on Tuesday, November 27th (Rain date Thursday, November 29th). The holiday extravaganza will feature the official lighting of the park’s 30-foot holiday tree, a performance from “In the Mix” A Capella group, a performance from The Singin’ Bohemians from MacGuffin, a performance from the Mummers, a special appearance from Santa Claus, holiday treats, and more. Mayor Jim Kenney and Council President Darrell Clarke will also be in attendance to join in the celebration and say a few words. The event will take place in the park near the guard tower from 5:00pm until about 5:30pm, with a performance from the Philly POPS to follow. Families and guests of all ages are welcome to attend this free holiday event.
