During the years of 1774 to 1789, delegates from the thirteen colonies gathered together to decide the fate of our nation. These groups of men were called the Continental Congress and under them, we declared our independence from Great Britain. Many famous historical figures were part of this group, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams; the men we would eventually recognize as our Founding Fathers.
But what were the Founding Father's doing when they were not declaring independence, fighting for our freedom and creating a nation? They were living their lives, going to meetings, hosting events for families and friends and DRINKING WINE of course!
This is basically a history lesson combined with a wine tasting. Come discover and enjoy the wines enjoyed by our Founding Fathers.
About your Teacher: Your tasting will be led by Dave Bonette, a Revolutionary War buff and direct descendant of a Continental Army veteran. Dave is also a local homebrewer, wine lover, and a Cicerone Certified Beer Server. Consider signing up for one of Dave's beer classes, known as Thirsty Thursday's these are fun tasting classes offered the 3rd Thursday of every month.
